Pilates for Older Adults

This is a matwork Pilates class that has a focus on bone health, balance and core strength, suitable for those living with osteopenia/osteoporosis and suitable for the fit older adult. It will involve standing work and mat work utilising small equipment like balls and therabands. Whether you just want a general, but slow paced, fitness class or are beginning to be more aware of age related changes like not feeling as upright, rounded shoulders, balance issues, joints that are seizing up and things just not working quite as well as they used to, I will endeavour to keep you moving, improve your balance and general alignment, keep the bones healthy with weight baring exercises and work at a pace and level that suits your needs.
