Anne Gilpin
Pilates and Somatic Movement Teacher
Hello! My name is Anne Gilpin and I am a Pilates teacher and Somatic Movement Teacher. I was first introduced to Pilates in 1994 when I was a student at The Laban Centre (now Trinity Laban) as part of my Contemporary Dance degree. During my time as a professional dancer I completed my training in Matwork Pilates and most recently in Somatic Movement. So I've been moving and teaching movement for a long time and can honestly say that these disciplines have been supporting me all the way through the ups and downs of life, keeping me mobile, flexible, strong and sane!
My teaching style is calm, thorough and effective. It is important to me that people come away from my classes feeling better in their bodies and with a sense of well-being, having enjoyed the sessions. I feel passionately that movement is for everyone and having access to movement is a right, whether that's a walk in the fresh air or a movement class, just a little every day can make a huge difference. I strive to offer classes that support whatever else you are doing in your life, to allow you to move through your day with more freedom in your body and without pain.
